THE SLOW ROAD AROUND THE WORLD BY BIKE
I now wonder if I did the right thing. The idea of cycling around the world sounded just fine. It is, however, harder than I expected to reduce everything I have collected during the years so it fits into 4 pannier bags!! To be without a home, a car and a job is downright scary.
Well, here I go!! From this:

Leaving all responsibility behind is like a huge weight off my shoulders, but I have butterflies in my stomach thinking of what I’m about to embark on. Well Beijing here I come!!
I have little to offer in the form of information, route, and destination, but I’m sure the road will decide for me. I have no goal or route plan, and I love the idea of the unknown and the uncertainty it brings.

Leana Niemand is 49 years old and lives in Cape Town, South Africa. She is a Professional Property Valuer by profession and has been running her own business known as “Valuation Services” for the past 11 years.
Leana is interested, and partakes, in various sports such as running, cycling, hiking, diving and dragon boat racing. She is currently a member of the local running club know as West Coast Running Club and she is also a member of the Meridian Hiking Club.
Although none of the above sports are done on a competitive basis, but purely for the adventure and enjoyment, it still requires daily training in order to keep enjoying these activities.
Leana has run the London and New York Marathons and various other local
Marathons, including 10 Cape Town marathons. She as also complete 8 Argus Cycle
Tours (105km) as well as the Double Century, a 215km race. |
